Core Leadership Team

Honorable Stephen Mark Studdert Stephen M. Studdert has a distinguished professional career and a long record of giving service to the community and the nation. A corporate executive and former senior White House Advisor to Presidents, he has a demonstrated background of proven leadership at the national and international level.


He is founder and CEO of Mantford Ventures, an investment-banking firm. He also founded a commercial bank, Fonix Corporation, and I3 Technologies. He has served on numerous corporate boards. He helped create the FORTUNE 500 Forum for senior executives and participated in Time Magazine’s leaders’ world news-tour.


Mr. Studdert served as a White House advisor to U.S. Presidents George Bush, Ronald Reagan, and Gerald Ford, and represented U.S. Presidents in diplomatic assignments to over one hundred nations. By presidential appointment he served on the President’s Export Council, the Export Advisory Now Council, and the Foreign Trade Practices and Negotiations Subcommittee. He was appointed by President Reagan as a United States Delegate to the United Nations Energy Conference in Africa, and by President Bush to the United States Delegations to the 40th NATO Summit and to the funeral of Emperor Hirohito of Japan. Since the fall of the Soviet Union, he has been involved in helping developing democracies and in humanitarian efforts in Africa. He directed the 1989 Presidential Inaugural, served as Advisor to the 1981 and 1985 Presidential Inaugurals, and provided counsel to the 2001 and 2005 Presidential Inaugural. He was appointed a Federal Home Loan Bank Director in the Clinton Administration. He serves as an advisor to the Under Secretary General of the United Nations.


His many civic responsibilities have included service as chair of the Utah Statehood Centennial Commission and Chair of This is the Place Foundation. He chaired the Mormon Pioneer Trail National Historic Advisory Commission, and is actively engaged nationally in parkland preservation and conservation. He presently serves as Chairman of the Board of The George Washington Center for Freedom & Understanding.


A strong advocate of affordable housing, he headed the national Native American Housing Initiative. He chaired the Housing and Community Development efforts of the $44 billion Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle, where he served on the Board of Directors as its Chair. He was elected by his peers to chair the Federal Home Loan Bank System Council of Chairs.


He was national Co-Chair of the New American Revolution, a foundation for helping youth in need. He has been a youth baseball coach and Scoutmaster, and serves on the Executive Committee of Scouting’s Utah National Parks Council. His four sons are Eagle Scouts.


Mr. Studdert is a former elected City Council member, and a past Jaycee President. He is a recipient of the Distinguished Citizen Award from the Boy Scouts of America, the National Guard Minuteman Award, the People of Vision award, the Utah Farm Bureau’s Friend of Agriculture Award, and the citizen Distinguished Service Medal from the United States Army. He served on the Board of Trustees of Southern Virginia University, from which he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate.


He and his wife Bonnie are the parents of six children.

Dr. Conrad Arthur Gottfredson, Executive Director Dr. Conrad A.Gottfredson has devoted his life to improving the life conditions of people, communities and nations through education. His Ph.D. in Instructional Psychology and Technology has provided him the opportunity to pursue this life goal in a 25 year private consulting practice where he has helped governments, non-profits, and multi-national organizations wisely employ emerging technologies and methodologies in helping people achieve personal and organizational goals. He has pioneered methodologies for developing and delivering learning at the moment of need, to those who need it, when they need it, in the language and form they need from a single source of content.


In addition, he has consistently contributed his time and resources addressing illiteracy challenges in schools, communities, and families. He has taught advanced instructional design as an adjunct faculty member at Brigham Young University. His many years of experience in business and academia combined with his unique collaborative consulting style has helped him develop simple, practical solutions to the common challenges facing organizations at all levels.


Dr. Gottfredson founded Conduit TecKnowledgy, a consulting firm. He also founded Modern Image Film and Video, a media production company. He has also served on numerous advisory boards for profit and non-profit organizations.


He and his wife Yvonne are the parents of eight children.
